can i buy another of the same type of ram and use it as dual channel.

Depends on the motherboard and CPU. If it's Socket 462 of Socket A for AMD, yes. If It's Socket 939 for AMD64, yes. If it's Socket 478 of Intel, yes.

what mobo do you have? if it supports dual channel then you slap in 2 sticks in teh proper slots and away yougo.

i have an Asus A8N-VM and yes it is dual ram supported
