You should get a LCD the is cheaper thant $400 that way you could spend a little more on the guts of your system to be like CPU, Memory, Case Video card and mother board sound card if you want to use adiuo other than the audio that comes with the mother board ect. So I would personally leave $700
for the guts of your system and $300 for a LCD. That's just my opinion.

Thanks for you opinion.
Actually, I have $1200 totally, but I have to consider about TAX, SHIPPING, so I'm thinking about $1000 for the PCs, and 200 for TAX and SHIPPING. what if I use $700 on the rest except LCD, does it help me computer a lot? or just a little bit? how about $800? If $800 really can help to improve a lot, I may go for it!

for just over 800 you can move up to the 820 & 2gb ram, I posted something similiar in another thread & modified for intel dual-core:

COOLER MASTER Centurion 5 CAC-T05-UB Black /Blue Aluminum $61 shipped @ newegg
FSP Group (Fortron Source) AX450-PN 450W $58 shipped @ newegg
Pentium D 820 Dual Core 2.8 LGA 775 $201 shipped @ newegg
MSI 945PL Neo-F Socket T (LGA 775) Intel 945PL $84 shipped @ newegg
G.SKILL 2GB (2 x 1GB) DDR2 667 CL4 $148 shipped @ newegg
BenQ Beige 16X DVD+/-RW 16x $35 shipped @ newegg
Western Digital Caviar SE16 WD2500KS 250GB 7200 RPM 16MB SATA $95 shipped @ newegg
$682

eVGA 256-P2-N553-AX Geforce 7600GT $185 shipped @ newegg
$867

Man newegg should give all THG forum members mad referral discounts or what?!?

I have not used the MSI 945PL but it looks like a nice board for the price. Will have to give it a try in my next intel build...

I like the way you think, doolittle, I'm going to use the micro-atx version of the Centurion case in my next pc build. The price for the cpu is pretty nice for the dual-core, but is the performance going to be up to snuff, and/or how well does it overclock? I'll plug Opterons until they're all bought or discontinued...
At the stated budget, you're getting your moneys worth, but for a monitor you could be asking for too many inches at not enough dough. For $200 at Newegg, you can get the Samsung 17"/ 8ms monitor, and if it's like mine (same specs, I paid $550 20 months ago) it's worth it. Look for better deals, you might find one, but be careful as less expensive monitors often have drawbacks, such as analog connectors only and will degrade the image even if you have a mid-to-high end video card.

I have read many articles said that PD 805 is very good at overclock? Isn’t it? Can easily beat 840 and AMD 3800+X2. True or not? Also question of G.Skill ram, it’s so cheap and how’s it compare to the CORSAIR?

First i need to know.. What are u going to use your computer mostly for?
EXAMP:LE: GAMING, HOME THEATRE, MEDIA CENTER, DVD and Music playback, music creation or for all this

Once i know im going to configure u the best PC possible for the price

Plus let me know the model of the LCD monitor u are purchasing.

im a very good specialist on this, this what i do for living.

Email me at: rickpcnerd@yahoo.com

hmm, for overclocking the 805 is excellent but you may need to get a big heatsink since it will heat up pretty quick. Yes the gskill is cheap, but is 667 so you should hit 14x200 easily without stressing plus I read the 805 can't go much past 200 fsb anyhows... Also I have not used that particular MSI board but I can't imagine an MSI board that cannot overclock!

This what i will built for 1.200

How about considering getting a cheaper LCD monitor. or a CRT monitor
since they are cheaper in price and better picture than all lcds.
If u currently have a monitor, how about eliminating the lcd for now, this way u could buy more powerful hardware for your rig. like an dual core processor under 1000 dollars.
How about this CRT monitor in .20mm dot pixels. Much better than this lcd .

Samsung SyncMaster 997mb CRT Monitor $190.00
