Win 98 SE ruined w/XP

Help! I tried to install XP on my dad's pc and now it's freaking out! He
wants it back to 98SE but I can't get it back. It automatically starts up
saying Windows Setup in a blue screen but if you continue with that it says
this file is missing etc, and wont install XP. So I chose F3 to quit setup
and the pc restarts itself in DOS. Then it gives you two choices Windows
something or Install Windows XP. (automatically goes to XP if you don't arrow
up to the other choice). Choose XP and you're back at the blue screen, the
other takes you to a screen where you can select safe mode, command prompt,
etc. i've chosen command prompt and safe mode command prompt then try to run
scanreg and i get "BAD COMMAND or FILE NAME". Almost everything I've tried
will end up in this. I have no idea what to do and I think my dad has since
taken me out of his will. Any suggestions will be GREATLY appreciated. THX!!!!

Does the other "windows something" as you've described it, take you back to
win98se?

If not, you should get your Win98se disc out, boot with it in the CD-ROM
tray & re-install it over again(it works like a repair install in XP, it
won't remove the data or programs that are already installed, in win98se you
will just need to run the Win98se updates, from Windows updates again, as
re-installing it, will set all the win98se system files back to their
originals, and it will fix the MBR removing the WinXP setup.

the will-money..........or,
1)buy him a new computer with lots of features
2)find him an 18yr old honey
3)run
