I'm new to my HP h2215 - upgraded from a palm tungsten e.

As usual when I get a new computer, I end up installing and
re-installing the operating system and programs until I can get them to
work the way I want.

Now I have 2 dead icons in the Programs area.

I also have two dead icons in the Switch Program menu item.

My simple solution was to do a hard resent and start from scratch - my
typical MO. However, the very slim little operator's guild "How do
I..." said the battery is deactivated when I do a hard resent.

What gives with that and how do you reactivate the battery - buy a new one?

One thing I'm a little pissy about is my inability to tinker with the
OS. It kind'a reminds me of when I bought my MAC Plus in the mid-80's.
Papa programer said no touch - and that was it - no touch. All we
had was a little program that let us change the way folders opened. The
other clunky thing is the PPC OS won't let you really use your expansion
memory cards the right way. And you can't even tell programs where to
find their files and there is no Properties option when I select icons.
Seems like this Pocket PC OS is right out of the 80's. Is MS coming out
with an update anytime soon?

As usual something is always a little stinky with MS (a tiny little bit
- MS lovers, don't hate me, Bill gates is our friend).

just open the file explorer on your PPC, navigate to windows -> start
menu, long-click on the dead things anbd choose "delete" from the pop-up.

Life and computer solutions are not always hard.... sometimes it is just
a case of "if you know it, it is simple"..... ;-)
