I think you may have answered your own question. I don't use
any download managers or file "joiners" so, I can't advise on
those. Maybe somebody else can. Depending on the way the file
is linked you can usually just right-click on the link and do
a "Save target as.." (in IE) to download the whole file in one
piece. "Joining" two totally separate downloads, has got to
be tricky work, if it isn't one "piece of work" to begin with (?)
IOW, putting a media file back together, vs. appending one to
another, are different animals. In the latter case, format/version
differences of the file (for one) would be problematic, unless
the program can handle the decode of the medias, and then
encode them into one stream of the same version.
