I just built a new computer and pluged it into a 27" LCD everything works great except for some lag during most of my games, granted my graphics card isnt the best but is it the size of the screen thats causing the problems? I didnt have these problems before with a smaller screen. Just wondering if i could get alittle clarification on what the problem is. Most likely the graphics card but i dont know that for sure. I was talking with someone at work and they mentioned something about installing monitor drives? Not sure but any help would be great.

Simple, get a better gfx card as prozac said.
At 1366 x 768(under DVI) with all quality setting pushed to the max in modern games a cheap 7800GT will do(slighly overkill actually).

Also update all your drivers and BIOS to the latest. [/per usual]

The cheapest 7800GT is $290; a terrible value next to a $300 7900GT. A 7600GT or X1800GTO would be nice.

it could be your monitor's 16ms response time...

before buying another video card like others said, try to low you game settings to 640x480 low quality and see if the lag is still there...

but do like they said and update your drivers

IT fixes the lag on some of my games but the higher end games are still laggy no one enjoys playing an MMO that lags at the weirdest times

Having a 27" widescreen high-definition LCD monitor should be match with a good card like the 7900GT or GTX in that way you can run its' native or recommended resolution. Otherwise a slow performing card with the monitors native resolution would not be able to handle it during gaming. Dawn of War at 600x800 reslolution 8O, I wonder how visible those ugly jagged edgies and thats another reason for you to get a good card is the size of the screen. Meaning that the bigger the picture, the more visible the jagged edges/aliasing and it's not pretty. Again a good card with outstanding performance should be able to run at higher resolution with at least 4xAA to smoothen out the visuals.

So big screen means you need big graphics card(s) to run it nice and smooth.

warcraft III lags on a 6600GT at 800x600? that's weird... well, try to update your graphics drivers... if it cant help, you'll have to change your card, as it cant handle the resolutions supported by your monitor
