I'm running XP pro and FS 2004. I've installed
2 graphics adapters, a Gforce 2-head AGP and an
ATI something. I've hooked up monitors to all
the vga outputs.

I can set everything up just fine with Windows,
launch FS, undock the main window and create 2
more views and move them to the side monitors
just fine. I can size the main monitor and one
of the side monitors just fine and fly. As soon
as I try to size the third monitor full size,
FS (and Windows) crashes.

I've tried different combinations of main and
side monitors routed to the Gforce and the ATI
and it doesn't make any difference. Size the
third monitor and it dies.

I know I've been vague about the specific types
of controllers I have. That's because I don't
have the info in front of me. I'll try to get
it.

Does anyone know of a known good combination of
AGP and PCI controllers that will run a three
monitor setup reliably. I don't have the cash
for a PCIexpress setup.

Thanks

Use 3 videocarts of the same brand so you can install 1 driver for 3 cards.
In this way I use 3 screens without problems.

Thanks Pieter. I'll give it a try this weekend.
Can I mix AGP and PCI adapters as long as I use
the same general controller chipset?

I have tried this with no success either. I believe the problem lies with
the PCI bus being unable to keep up with the AGP. No matter how good the PCI
vid card is, it will never compete with the AGP and when you stretch the FS
view to the 3rd monitor, its crash time (or you will get at most 1 fps lol)

I have researched this problem and it seems the only solutions are
1- Use 2 PCs with Wideview (no virtual cockpit across 3 monitors though)
2- Get a Matrox Parhelia vid card (supports 3 monitors)
<-- the best option I think
3- Get a motherboard which supports PCI express AND AGP. Fairly rare and
expensive I think, but I have seen articles about them.

Sorry to be of no help

Bryan
