I was lookin on newegg and found a pair of radeon x850xt's. Ones a crossfire mastercard the other is just a baseline one. I am wondering if they are worth considering as I can set up a crossfire rig for right around $405 before shipping.

Would I be better off with this set up or just a single x1800xt for about the same amount of money????

If the budget can extend to a X1900XT, this would give the most life and performance. Also a year or so down the track you can get a X1900XT crossfire master card to add. Just my thoughts anyway.

yup, X1900XT would be best option.

Even this SLI user will recommend the X1900XT lol.

HDR + AA, PWNS Shader intensive games..... CF is catching SLI, as is the CF chipset. ATI is making a comeback, damn 8O

The best thing will be taht you take two 1900xtx in croosfire.

AM2 will become something after some time, you have a lot of time before his
mastering in computers world.

Dont take AM2 if you plan to collect money for two 1900xtx.

GrTz!

I would recommend saving up a bit more as well, the X1900XT/XTX's have dropped much in price since the time of their release and are well worth the few extra $$'s.
