I am having some trouble with my computer and DNS. I currently have my
computer set up with DHCP and have not had to worry about handling DNS and
WINS information. Recently, however, my computer has stopped trying to
resolve domain names. I cannot load any website unless I substitute the IP
address for the domain. I have not changed anything recently, but I need to
fix this problem. I can ping my DNS servers, but it seems Windows is not
willing to resolve any names at all. Help!

Click Start > Run, type in: winipcfg and press Enter

Does all look ok?

Release all/Renew all.
Does it complete?

Have a look in Network Neighborhoods properties > TCP/IP properties to see if
anything is changed.
Start from scratch by removing everything in NN, rebooting and reinstalling.

Check with your ISP to see if there are any issues with their servers.

Ask this in a more appropriate ng:
microsoft.public.win98.networking
