Hello,

I will buy a new PSU and am considering to buy a Levicom 420 Watt with 22A on the 12V.

Anybody knows the brand? Good or not so good?

Thanks for your reply!

Most people would say to stick with 'name brand' PSUs (OCZ, Enermax etc...)

I've never heard of Levicom, and would be tempted to say that it's not very good. What does it cost?

I'm living in Belgium, here it costs about 70 EUR (in most shops about 80-85). SO in USD it has to be something like 85 USD...

Looks like it's a german product that hasn't made it to the US or even to the UK yet. All the reviews seem to be in German. Given that you live in Belgium, I guess you know at least some German, so you can understand some of the reviews.

Hardwarecrew gave the "Blackpower" 84%:

http://www.hardwarecrew.com/artikel/netzteile/levicom_blackpower_420_watt_sps-bp420.html

Their conclusions
* For
+ good looks
+ Performance
+ Build Quality
+ good, quiet cooling

* Against
- steife cables (don't know what the german word "streife" means)
- size
- Large clips on the 24pin mainboard plug, which can cause problems

Levicom has used more than one manufacturer.

The 500W (shown here), 450W and possibly the 350W are low-end Topower, similar to Aspire and not very desirable.
The 400W is by Wintech and may be good quality.

The 430W is definitely by Channel Well and should be excellent because it's virtually identical to the Antec True Power.

I don't know who makes the 420W Levicom, but both Topower and Channel Well have produced 420W models. However if it's a Channel Well it's from their ATX-suffix line, which is 3-4 notches below their A- (Antec True Power) and B- (Antec Smart Power), although I don' t know if it's better or worse than Channel Well's ISO- line. If the 430W Levicon isn't much costlier, choose it over the 420W; even a 380W (also like Antec True Power) may be better than the 420W.
