Hi,

Does someone know if they will be a
dual amd cpu, dual-core ready, crossfire ready
motherboard available soon.

I am waiting to buy a Crossfire version motherboard
similar to the Tyan S2895 witch is a SLI version.

If not i will buy the Tyan S2895 in the SLI version.

can i ask why?

1x 7800gtx will out perform 2x X850XTPE's
1x R520 (when its out) will out perform 2x X850XTPE's

Crossfire is going through final stages of validation i think. Got another
few months at least yet. and by the the R520 should be coming out (it
wouldnt supprise me if they release the 2 the same week so nutters can buy
x2 R520s!)

the 7800ultra will be out by then also

Hi,

I was going to order my dream computer ($$$):
1 Tyan S2895 dual cpu, dual core ready, sli ready motherboard
2 AMD opteron 246
4 gig of memory (4 X 1gig, 2 gig per CPU)
2 sata raptor 74 gig in raid 0 stripping,
1 geforce 7800 gtx + VIVO.
1 650 watt PSU + full tower

and having the option to upgrade in a year to 8 gig of memory, 2 dual-core
CPU
and two geforce 7800 gtx card when need & the price will be lower.

But i just learn that you can not upgrade in a year by just adding a second
Nvidia card
for the SLI mode because it will not be the exact bios version of the card.

There is a lot of money involve.

Just thinking of buying one $1000 (Can) video card and throw it away in a
year or two and
to buy the same card twice ( more recent) of the same brand, make and bios
version to enable the
SLI mode repel the SLI to me.

That why i was looking for the Crossfire instead of the SLI, the Crossfire
card is compatible
with all X800XT serie and up.

I'am i right?
What will be your suggestion?

you can update the bios's of the cards to the same version.

also by then the drivers may have changed to allow different bios's. Its not
a hardware limit its something nvidia uses in its drivers
