Hi,

I am running Windows 98 on a 500 MHz system with 256MB RAM.

I have been attempting to burn CD 's using Easy CD Creator 3 which has been
used on my system from new with no problems.

During writing however, I keep getting the message:
'Track Writer error - Insufficient memory to complete the operation'

There is over 10Gb of space on the hard disk and I am not running any other
programs during the writing process. Nor have I installed anything new
recently. Have tried reinstallation with no effect.

Any suggestions anyone ?
Many thanks
John

Be sure the recycle bin is empty. Can't say it relates specifically to
your problem but that error will come up sometimes when a program is
creating/deleting files and the capacity you set for your recycle bin is
reached.

Just a couple of wags to throw out..
Have you put a cap on swap file size?
Cleaned out the %temp% (c:\windows\temp) folder?

thanks for the info. I have cleaned out the temp folder to see if that makes
a difference.

I have nt intentionally put a cap on swap file size as I would nt know how.
Having said that I have Norton Systemworks on my system which, I if I
remember correctly, 'optimizes' the swap file.
Would this 'optimization' affect the file size and if so how would I alter
it back ?

Many thanks

No, it shouldn't. I don't use Norton, but 'optimization' probably only has to do with NDD/defrag.

The only things I can think of is to:

uninstall/reinstall Easy CD.
clean the burner with a "head cleaner" and blow out the dust.
try the burner in another system.
google.

maybe someone else will be along with other ideas..?
