HI i just picked up a new epox 8rda3+pro.
I have a amd 2500 barton and i can not get the cpu multiplier to change whether i set it at 15 or down to 10 it will still say it is at 11.
fsb is no problem i have had it up to 210x11.
2 other mobos i could change the clock setting with this same 2500.
what is up with this board or what am i missing!

THANKS

When i check it says i have the latest bios. 02-08-06
I have called epox but all they said is they would check into it.
With high voltage i can reach 2.3 temps are ok highest has been 42c.
I am hoping to figure this out i think this cpu is a very good one and has a lot more to offer.Am still on it but it is frustrating not being able to change clock.

msi-k7nmsr-n2 and asus av7nx-xn2 both would allow the change up to 12.5 and below as far as i wanted also my old gigabyte via kt400a.
Cant figure this out does not make sense. I never tried them any higher than that.

Thanks

HI do you have any input with this problem i have.
Epox says they have tried a 2500 and the same 8rda3+pro and they can change the clock speed. even with the old or new bios. Everything else works fine and can change everything else in the bios and it works fine.

Thanks

That is my thought about this board.Epox claims they have tried this same board with a 2500 and it works fine .They now want me to try another cpu in this board because they say they are stumped.
I am buying some high performence ram this weekend that was my next shot. Oh well try try again.

Thanks

Well still have not solved my problem.
Epox says they are stumped. They now said they will send me a new bios chip and that could be the problem. What do you think about this?
Everything else works fine on the board.Even had it up to 11x 205 and ran fine.Have not bought my new ram yet.The voltage was at 2.0 though.
Temps 39-43c

Thanks

Hi just for info, Epox all ready sent me a new bios chip.Should get it soon.
I tried the pencil trick on the L5 #3 bridge just for the hell of it.
It did work cpuz, cpumsr and cpuid all reported i had a mobile xp.
My bios only said it was a xp and windows, sandra with others said unkown
cpu.Still would not allow clock change. All my #1 and #3 bridges are connected.1 L12 and 3 L5 are cut. It has to be the bios locking this chip.
What do you think.

Thanks Curtis

P.S. Never thought i would be building or messing with computers.
Just a simple carpenter that got bored and wanted to see how things worked.

Ya i know 2.0 v is to much but my temps never have gone very high.
And yes Epox is sending one at there cost.
I am still hoping to figure this one out.
I had high hopes for this epox board + my 2500 barton.
We shall see.

Thanks

Yes you are right at 2.0 the vcore readings are about 1.96-1.97.
I have only used sandra- 3-d 2005 and pc2005 as bench marks so far.
Temps on thoughs highest being system at 29c and cpu at 44c.
Vddim at 2.77 and chip set at 1.6. I know with better ram i will get more out of it.That will be coming soon. The amount of on line gaming my kids do and i also have the game pirates i do not have any problems running at 200x11. Also my ati 9600 pro over clocked to the max i can get. WE will see when i get my new bios chip and than my ram.Still hopfull with this epox board.

Thanks again Curtis
