More Information

Just thought it would be interesting to see what everyone else has for a setup! Not for people to ridicule, just to compare.

I wanted something for both gaming and PVR function. Using some existing parts on hand and some new ones came up with:

Thermaltake Bach Media Case w/VFD display
AMD 3700+ San Diego core (stock speed)
BFG 7800 GT OC
2 GIG Dual Channel PC3200 Ram
2 X 200GB Maxtor H.D.
Evga 133-K8-NF41 SLI motherboard
Sound Blaster Live! Gamer 5.1 soundcard
Logitec 5.1 speakers
32" 16:9 LCD Toshiba T.V. (using DVI connection @ 1080i)
19" Flat Screen CRT secondary monitor
LG DVD Burner
Haugpauge PVR 150 w/MCE remote
Windows XP Media Center 2005
Logitec bluetooth cordless mouse, keyboard & gamepad

I can now sit in my comfy chair and not have to move!

No spyware or antivirus software.

All of the above except keyboard, card reader and WiFi nic leftover from personal and family/friend pc upgrades. Keyboard, WiFi nic and card reader cost $70 Aus.

(We have 2 other pc's in the house which cost a "little" more than this one)

This pc is built to be used purely for web browsing, Linux learning and e-mail. It also sees duty as backup MSN terminal and innocuous games like solitaire.

My rig? Its in the process of change, but for the moment:

X-Navigator case
420 wt PSU (soon to be replaced for more power)
ASUS A8N-32-SLI Deluxe (failed and presently on RMA, I'm using my kid's computer for the moment)
X2-4400 CPU
2 gig Corsair XMS ram
7900 GTX 256 (will be replaced, but not sure whether 512 7900 GTX or X1900 XTX yet)
Viewsonic VX924 moniter
1st drive 160 GB Hitachi SATA hardrive
2nd drive 80GB Seagate SATA
1st CD Sony CDRW
2nd CD Sony DWQ-28A Dual format
X-FI platnum
Klipsch THX 5.1 speakers

Nothing fancy, but it works well enough for me. I'll probably go to a DFI motherboard later, especially if I have any more troubles with the ASUS board.
