I upgraded from Windows XP to Windows 7. I was using Office 2007 on XP and when I went to reinstall it on Windows 7, it cannot find the earlier version to upgrade. I had upgraded from an earlier version of Office and I only have the upgrade office disk.

How do I reinstall Office Standard 2007 upgrade on Windows 7?

Your best bet may be to call MS and explain the situation to them. They can give you a proper key that will allow the full install to take place.

it refuses even when you put the previous version's CD in the drive when asked to do so?

if it came pre-installed he may not have a cd - only one of those pesky oem reinstall disks....

i've always found microsoft to be extremely helpful with stuff like this - especially as i tend to have non-standard (NHS home user versions) editions of their software on my pc's.....

Yeah, I've always found MS to be ok too, so often we have problems getting windows activated at work as we tend to set up one pc and image it onto the rest. They ask a couple questions and you're away.
