I installed 2GB X 4 in my PC why is it that only 3 5 is USABLE?

It sounds like you are using the 32-bit version, and not the 64-bit version. The 32-bit versions can only see and use ~3.5 GB of total memory, while the 64-bit version has much, much higher memory limits.

Correct, 64-bit (Ultimate for me) runs up to 256gigs of RAM where as 32-bit can't cap 4gigs of RAM so I hear.

Over all you needa upgrade your OS.

Assuming that you really are running the 64-bit version of Windows, the problem may be due to your boot configuration. Try this:

- Start -> type "msconfig" in the search box and hit <enter>

- Click the "boot" tab

- Click the "Advanced Options..." button

- Make sure that the "maximum memory" option is not checked.
