Please may I check about partitioning my hard drive: Windows XP with a
drive exclusive to itself; and a drive for MS Flight Sim. Should the flight
sim drive be exclusive, with a separate drive for addons?

Thanks for replies on the AMD heat question.

I'd say it's a good idea to install FlightSim on another drive.. such
as D\ whilst the OS is on C\. Furthermore a good idea to have third
drive E\ for bulk storage and to make backup ZIP files of your work.

Maybe even have twin bulk storage drives.. for redundancy!!

Hi Adam Webb,

Hey mate, I'm also running WinXP64 (on a separate SATA hard drive) -
have you found much stuff/many drivers yet?

I've found drivers for an ATI graphics card, a SoundBlaster Audigy 2 ZS,
O & O Defrag 64-bit, Gigabyte mobo and related software applications, but no
printer drivers yet........

John Ward

yup no printer drivers yet either. Epson. Im also not sure if Saitek have
X45 drivers for 64 yet? ive not checked I know everything else is coverd
though.

Ive not reinstalled XP64 yet since getting a Nforce 4 motherboard + 7800gtx.
Im also only stuck with 512mb ram right now due to RMAing half of it back.
WinXP is REALLLLLLLY slow with 512 and i cant believe how bad the fps is in
FS2004 either!

I need my ram back!!!! :-(

Hi Adam Webb,

You're right, mate - XP64 won't take ANY 32-bit drivers, end of story.

My HP Laserjet 3030, and Canon Lumix iP 5000 printers will have to wait.

I was very surprised when Gigabyte had mobo drivers available....

What I'm discovering is the "little things", such as no AVG Pro
Antivirus, no ZoneAlarm Pro, no Panasonic digital camera, or Nokia mobile
phone PC cable, drivers. No CD/DVD-burning software drivers.

Etc, etc....

But it's definitely fast, noticeably, even for loading and running
Flightsim!!
