Here is the dilio, I have a USB cable, which I want to make it 15 meters long. I have 3 questions.
1.-Where can I find schematics on th USB cable function and parts (pins, cable color meaning, covering wire)
2.-Will the cabl be able to work if its 15 meters long? what is the lenght limit to which it will work with no prob?
3.- I want to build the extension. I think I only need to cut the cable, and add more cable in between, but the coating mail (just like the covering coat metalic mail in the coaxial cable) brings doubts. Does this covering metalic fibers transport information, or is it ground, or it doesnt do anything but to protect the cable from braking apart.

Any information you consider critical or useful I will be extremely greatful

Thanx :D

do a google search and youl find that the max. single cable length is either 5 or 10 meters. Longer distances can be achieved with powered hubs.

Youd be best to just buy a cable. Lots less hasle. plus you wont fry anything if the connections short out.
