I have a dell laptop xps m140 and it won't let me install World of Warcraft. Theinstallation disc states that my cpu does not meet the minimum requirements to install. I sthis true or is there something else going on here? Secondly, I'd like to build my first computer and i have an E-machines T3256 which has an AMD AThlon Xp 3200 processor. Tiger Direct has phenomenal deals on a cpu and motherboard and the same cpu/motherboard for the SAME
price with a case and powersupply included. Here are the links:
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applica [...] 0-1020%20H
and
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applica [...] P4M800-340
Will this system be able to play WOW (with better Ram upgrade and a better graphics card)? and Will it be as fast or faster than my E-machines?
Thanks in advance for all the help.[/b]

The reason that WOW is stating you cannot install it on your 140 is because of speedstep. When speedstep takes the processor speed down to idle levels as I call it, WOW is thinking you have too slow of a processor.

What I would try doing is running another application to keep speedstep from dropping the processor speed down to a minimum at least until you can get WOW sucessfully started.

WOW doesn't require a whole lot to run it and both of those machines you indicated should run it with no problem. I have an Inspiron 9300 widescreen with an ATI X300 graphics chip in it and it plays WOW just fine.

Dont bother with the celerons, they wont give you any where near the perf of your XP3200.
If your current mobo has an agp slot, upgrade your gfx card.
First thing to do is get more memory. I dont care how much you have now, WoW wants more. ( really only up to 2 gigs)
If you haven't already done it, whipe your hdd, and put a clean install of you os in. The bloatware from e-machines could choke any chip.

Plug your laptop to the AC outlet so that the CPU will not automatically go into speed step mode.
