Anybody useing a USB Modem?

I thinking of getting a USB modem to free up a slot in my computer. I was wondering if this was worth the money, and if there were any major problems i should be aware of. The one im looking at is a 56k V.92, which is "current" if im not mistaken. This modem would be only for internet access, i dont need fax or caller id.

Should work fine for you. since your on dial up but if you where on DSL or Cable I would stay away from USB's at least thats what I was told by the higher up tech's where I worked... They seemed to think it was hard on the computers...

The reason is that thru USB you get 10Mbps and thru ethernet you get 100Mbps. I've also seen Spyware on the disks used to load the USB drivers for some companies in my area.

You should not have any problems using a USB modem. It should work just as well as an internal modem.
