My Win98 P2 machine intermently hangs. This problem started occuring after I
upgraded to NAV 2005 from NAV 2002. When I CRTL-ALT-DEL, I see that MSGSRV32
is not responding. In System Monitor, CPU usage spikes to close to 100%. I
have scanned for viruses and spyware, and all seems to be OK. I have since
uninstalled NAV 2005, but the problem still exist. Anyone have any ideas on
whats wrong?

Thanks in advance!

Installing NAV 2005, for one.

Installing NAV 2005 w/out having first fully uninstalled NAV 2002, for
another.

Perhaps when he "upgraded," he meant that he trundled along to Symantec and
collected the various removal tools, (I find that I need to run about three
of them to free Windows from a Norton abomination ...i mean installation!),
so that the next Norton install goes swimmingly ! !
....in which case your second point could be wrong.

There's no mention of a firewall or indication of internet security
awareness - so there could be all sorts of nasties in there !

.....why was I bothering to respond to this post ? ....aaah ! I know ...to
comment that Pa Bear doesn't seem to be being very helpful on this one :-)

regards, Richard

Simply using Nortons' "token gesture" uninstall, would not have
satisfactorily uninstalled the program, you would have needed to have
visited Symantec, and collected some of thier "removal tools." Most
software houses are the same i.e. the "uninstall" routine provided with
their application program is simply not adequate or comprehensive.

Did you use Rnav2003.exe removal tool as well?

Have you tried reinstalling NAV 2002 and seeing if the problems persist?
