I just bought a Intel Pentium D Box 820 at 2.8GHz for $179. I have been looking around and I found a Pentium D 930 a 3.0 GHz cpu for $213 at NewEgg.com.

I am wondering if the $35 is worth the upgrade as I still have time to return it. Taking into condideration that the 900 series is a 65 nanometer technology and it is a faster CPU. The downside is that reports I have been reading say that the 900 series tends to get hotter than the 800 series and the fan included with the 930 is louder than the 820.

Any suggestions or ideas. Thanks!!

The fan won't be that loud. It's worth it, do it. Also if you have a well ventilated case, it shouldn't matter in terms of heat.

get the 930 and overclock =o
as to the heat thing, i don't know how the hell a 65nm processor can be hotter than a 90nm processor running only 200 mhz slower...

There you have it, everyone is saying to get the 930, and on top of that, especially for that little of a price difference. Go ahead and get it.
