Hi I am considering upgrading to an x2 3800+ and Asrock Dual SATA mobo with the above mentioned power supply which i already own. I am wondering if it will be enough power.

I also have a bfg 6600GT AGP
2x512 mb pc 3200 kingston value
1x 160gb hd, IDE
1x 16x dvd burner
2 120mm case fans
floppy
then the stock heatsink fan or perhaps an aftermarket if i dont get the heatpipe version.

Thanks guys.

a 400 should be fine for that. Don't get sucked into the "have to have a 800W system" thing.

My last rig had a 6800GT, dual IDE hard drives, dual dvd burners, ect..with a 250W ps.

My current rig (see sig), but 4 fans (3 120's, 1 80), plus lightscribe, ect..is a TT 550W. No problems whatever.

If you want to double-check, go here.

I would guess your system would only use around 250W, but that link will let you know with a little more certainty.

HAHA thats awsome you were right, about 255w :p Thank you that tool is very helpful.
My current rig only about 233, makes me feel a little dumb i got a 400w in the first place :p but im sure the extra wattage is helpful anways.

heh not soo fast buddy. your 6600GT requires that extra power. if u can spend extra cash on a good name PSU with a good amount of Ampers on the rails it sbetter. if its rated 600w doesnt mean squat. a 520w PSU can beat out a 600w PSU if needed. get a good quality PSU.
