Are you overclocking by FSB or changing the multiplier?
and if games are kicking you out saying there is somthing wrong with the proc, there probably is :p, knock it down a bit.

i only have the option to change FSB, i can get to 186 any higher than that and it will lock up.

Try flashing the BIOS to the latest revision. And get the latest version of CPU-Z. While you're at it, get the latest updates for all of your components, and try it again. Gigabyte's aren't the best overclockers, but you should get a bit more out of it with no stability problems.

You might also try upping the voltage on the CPU by a little. That may aid in stability.

It's got to be a problem with the OC on your hardware. I've got my XP 2500+ overclocked to 3200+ and I can play UT2k4 all day without a problem. I can overclock it to 2.5GHz and run UT, but it ends up crashing due to heat.
