Scsi card question

I have a adaptec 29160 scsi controller that is what I think is a PCI 2 connection and my XPS 9100 Dell only has a PCI slot open. Can I use the card in that slot? May sound like a stupid question to those who really know what they are doing but as you see I only know enough to be dangerous. My OS is Win7 64

should be fine i cannot see any problems installing that.

64-bit PCI-to-SCSI adapter so will need the pci-x slot not a standard pci slot or are you talking about pci-x v2, then it will be ok.

What I have is a standard PCI slot open and the connector on the SCSI board is much longer and I'm told is a PCI-x. the card is supported by win 7 64 bit but I worry about using the slot on the MB Here is a link to the card I have
