I've downloaded this update 6 times: on 6/20; 6/24; 6/26; 6/27; 7/3; and 7/8.
Does this update not stick?

First of all, rest assured that you are not alone! See
http://groups-beta.google.com/groups?q=837009+%2B+again+group:microsoft.public.*&start=0&scoring=d&hl=en

Important: Did you post from the problem machine and is it running Win98?

Your headers (Microsoft Outlook Express 6.00.2800.1437) tell me that you
have a later Cumulative Security Update for OE installed (KB823353, AKA
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/Bulletin/MS04-018.mspx, Jul-04)
which supersedes KB837009 (Apr-04).

When KB823353 was first released, it was offered to Win9x users at Windows
Update. About 6 weeks later, this was no longer the case and the write-up
for KB823353/MS04-018 was changed to state that the vulnerabilities
addressed by the update were not "critical" in Win9x. It would appear that
you were one of the few who installed KB823353 via Windows Update a year
ago.

Do you find 'Outlook Express - KB823353' (or similar) listed in Add/Remove
Programs? If so uninstall it then revisit Windows Update and install
KB837009.

Workaround: Just ignore it and stick with what you've got.

'Outlook Express - KB823353' (or similar) What do you mean by 'similar'. I
have the same problem with being offered KB837009 many times and also many
updates in the add/remove programme but not 823353. Bob

Thanks. That's 3 updates I get to ignore at the Update site. Now where is the
ignore button at the update website? The "Remove" Button does not mean ignore,
it means deselection.
