I connected 2 computer by networking. I connected both computers ( one with
98 and one with xp) with hub and hub is connected to modem. proble,m is with
windows 98 computer.
1)it doesn't recognize xp computer, neither it connect to internet.
2)many time when i change some setting (for example in primary network logon
in network) it asksme to insert CD of wind 98, even if i insert disc and
click ok, it doesn't go beyond that.
3)In help, in troubleshooter when i select one option and click in NEXT, it
stays there ,not going ahead.
4)Any window I open, has small and faint fonts, not very easy to read.

thanks for all the helps.

Are you using a hub or a router for your network?

If you are using a hub then you will have to have two available i.p.
addresses from your Internet Service Provider in order to access the
Internet from both computers.

Can tell you only my experiences with a XP PC, and 98SE PC connected via
separate hub, then router, then cable modem.
The diskette created in XP for 98SE to network with it failed to do the
trick. I fiddle-farted around and managed to get netbeui protocol to work
for connecting the two. XP simply made the adjustment, nothing else was
installed there. File/drive shares used this protocol in 98SE.

I didn't use the cable modem ISP's software for internet connection. TPC/IP
protocol on both PCs auto-found the cable modem.

Many ISPs now offer some FAQ on how to connect multiple PCs for internet
access.
