I voted setup one, but if you do with Setup 2, find another motherboard. THe Asus SLI boards have lots of issues. Its one of the poorest products Asus makes. Consider a DFI board.

I would say setup one because I dont think SLI is worth it :D

I agree.

$setup=1;

It seems a single 7900GTX's performance is pretty comparable to 2 7900GTs in SLI, and cheaper. Setup 1.

On a 19" monitor you won't miss setup 2 that much. Save yourself some money and just get setup 1.

Once again, SLi is a waste of cash.......

If i were to pick setup one, would it be smarter to take a X1900XTX instead? and if i took a X1900XTX what mobo should i choose?

It depends, nVidia cards do better in OpenGL, ATI cards do better in D3D.

nVidia cards run great on any OS while ATI cards are windoze only for the most part.

As far as the motherboard is concerned I would suggest a quality non-SLI nF4 Ultra or nF4 motherboard.

Good Luck :-D

Ya I would go for setup 1 except look at the x1900 series.

Since you're going to run it on a 19" monitor, therefore lower resolution, I think a single card solution will work just fine. If you're going to get a bigger monitor with higher resolutions, then get Setup #2.
