I recently got a eVGA 7600 GT video card.
Everything is working fine except that after playing a game (day of defeat), all my movies/videos I watch with VLCPlayer are Pink/Purple. Ive seen a few other cases of this when people play movies after gaming with a steam game, but was never resolved/fixed.
What is causing this? At first I thought it was overheating and causing problems, but its not. Its the game. Its only when I play my game does it happen.
How do I fix this?
I do have the latest drivers. Its the latest Beta. Im using the beta because i tried the latest official release and it still didnt work. The beta doesnt help either. it has to be a conflict between steam apps and VLCPlayer running in a Nvidiacard, never had this problem with my previous card (ATI, but i hate ATI, <3 nvidia)
Right when day of defeat of counter strike finishes loading and i have a movie loaded. The picture turns pink/purple, about I exit steam and wait 5-15 minutes i restart the movie and its fine.
have you tried a degause (or what ever that is) on your monitor.
when I glued on a 80mm fan to my video hs after the stock fan lost a blade or two, I got a purple haze near the bottom of my crt, just degaused it and its fine.
If i removed the fan it went away so it had to be the magnetic field near the video card because nothing magnetic was ever near the crt. Kinda weird I thought
Sorry for answering so late - I just wanted to say that I'm having the same problem.
samir_nayanajaad: It has nothing to do whatsoever with the screen being damaged. It simply is a bug somewhere, and it only appears after playing a Steam game, it seems (in my case, Counter-Strike: Source).
It did actually work to set the resolution to something else, and change back. However I think the pink screen will return the next time I play CS.
I have got a Dell Inspiron 9400 with a NVIDIA GeForce Go 7900 GS card.
I think it's not only related with steam games.I get wierd colors in videos after playing GTA:san andreas. But i don't get any wierd colors after playing Half life 2.I have an FX5200

That may well be I just felt like replying here since I've googled "video turns pink" etc. and have come up with no results. I rarely play any other game that demands as much of the graphic card as Steam Source games.
