I am having a really hard time deciding between these two heatsinks. They are both pretty close in cooling (although from reviews it seems the Noctua does a better job) and they are both about the same price. To be honest I am kind of leaning towards the xp-90c just because I like the solid copper look better (ok i'm a sucker, so shoot me :) ). If anyone has any advice please let me know.

I dont trust heat pipes. Theyre great when they work, but ive had a few friends complain that they need an hour to "warm up" before they work effectively, and that temps are all over the place varying up to 10 degrees for no apparent reason.

Id go for the xp90, you can allways trust a big chunck of copper. 8)

xp-90c has heatpipes too... and there's no such thing as a "heating up" period for heat pipes. they are just conductors

and for the varying temperatures, its due to the motherboard sensors, they vary a lot and is never accurate
