Yes it possible just follow the directions. (I am NOT the original creator of this hack I have only modified it to make it easier) This also works with Boot Camp for those Mac users out there.
01 - Insert Windows XP MCE CD and boot from it.
02 - Press "R" to run the recovery console from the CD
03 - Select proper installation to log onto (default: 1) and press 'Enter'
04 - (If prompted, enter Administrator password and press 'Enter')
05 - Type (without quotes) and press enter: 'cd system32config'
06 - Type (without quotes) and press enter: 'copy SYSTEM C:'
07 - Type (without quotes) and press enter: exit
08 - At boot menu, select 'Windows XP Media Center Edition'
09 - Start > Run > Type: 'regedit' and press enter
10 - Click on 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE'.
11 - File > Load Hive...
12 - Browse and select C:SYSTEM
13 - Specify key name 'BANANA' and click OK
14 - Expand: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > BANANA > WPA > MedCtrUpg
15 - On the right-hand side, double-click IsLegacyMCE value
16 - Change selected value to 1 and click Ok. (THAT IS NOT AN L!)
17 - Click on BANANA subkey (under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE).
18 - File > Unload Hive. Confirm.
19 - Start > Shutdown > Restart
20 - At boot menu, select 'Microsoft Windows Recovery Console'
21 - Select proper installation to log onto (default: 1) and press 'Enter'
22 - (If prompted, enter Administrator password and press 'Enter')
23 - Type (without quotes) and press enter: 'cd '
34 - Type (without quotes) and press enter: 'copy SYSTEM C:WINDOWSSYSTEM32CONFIGSYSTEM'
25 - (Yes, you want to overwrite - Go ahead and do it)
26 - Type (without quotes) and press enter: 'del SYSTEM'
27 - Type (without quotes) and press enter: 'exit'
28 - At boot menu, select 'Windows XP Media Center Edition'
29 - Join domain.
