I am having trouble accessing the pogo.com website to play games and I think it's because of my router. My thought is that since the router is not telling pogo my IP address, that pogo is not letting me play the games I want to play.

Does anyone know a way around this?

you have to find out what port you need to forward and then forward that port to your PC (from the router config)

The only problem I had with Pogo is that I did a microsoft update and downloaded and installed a fix for the JScript 5.6 or something like that and I couldn't play any games on Pogo becuase of it. If I re-installed my OS and downloaded everything except that update Pogo worked fine. I think Pogo now requires Java downloaded from sun now.

maybe port forwarding isn't your problem after all, see <A HREF="http://games.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/games.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_sid=r-fJGqMg&p_lva=10995&p_faqid=1052&p_created=986503219&p_sp=cF9zcmNoPTEmcF9ncmlkc29ydD0mcF9yb3dfY250PTMmcF9zZWFyY2hfdGV4dD1wb3J0IGZvcndhcmQmcF9zZWFyY2hfdHlwZT0zJnBfcHJvZF9sdmwxPX5hbnl_JnBfcHJvZF9sdmwyPX5hbnl_JnBfY2F0X2x2bDE9NjYmcF9jYXRfbHZsMj1_YW55fiZwX3NvcnRfYnk9ZGZsdCZwX3BhZ2U9MQ**&p_li=" target="_new">this post</A> on their website for more info. What is the exact error you're getting?

I was trying to gain access to a game. When you get into pogo you select your game to play, then the room... when the room starts to open a new window I get that error instead of the game window

lemme try it from home this afternoon. I can't reach it from work due to the corporate firewall. I'll report back here the results of my attempt.

Well, from home it works fine with a default setup on my router. I tried 1st class Solitaire, not sure whether a different game would have a problem. What game were you trying to access?

It doesn't matter what game I try. Also some new info - with the router conencted, I have tried port forwarding & port triggering - NOTHING! Thought I should try taking the router out of the equation - NOTHING!

I am running XP Pro on a Dell 4550. Any other ideas? I am not using Zone Alarm either. This is really starting to bug me.

Just wanted to let you know that I am up & running! It had something to do with the host file. There were 2 host files one from windows/system the other from Spybot. I renamed it & pogo works. Just wanted to pass it along & say thanks for all your help.
