I think you people really should be worried. Call me a conspiracy theory freak if you want, but I sincerely believe that such catastrophic security is not an oversight or accident.

Ra's message raises the distinct possibility that there are indeed beings from elsewhere (Wanderers) who are continuing to awaken on planet Earth. To be precise, Ra estimated that 65,000,000 were already incarnate on Earth during the 1960's. Wanderers are described as beings who have evolved to a point of physical and spiritual maturity, which compels them to compassionately reach their hands out to any entities in the universe who call for help. Ra further states that these individuals are from all reaches of the infinite creation.

Totally implausable...The I.R.S. has access to the census bureau & would talley issued birth certificates against census numbers & hunt down any large amount of "over talleyed" persons so that they could suck them dry..[/Holy fcuking S.O.D.]

You probably will if she becomes Speaker.
Just this morning on the local news a story aired about hackers gaining access to the DuPage County (Illinois) Board of Elections computer system. Of course, no voting records of any kind were compromised...

Once a system of governance that stipulates 'by the people' => 'for the people' (something I don't 100% agree with in the first place), has its founding proposition removed, you get a non-functioning system of governance.

Something that can lead to very dire consequences when you're talking about the most powerful nation in the world during the nuclear age.

All that`s needed is to entertain supportive thoughts and then actions in everyday life. Everything else will then fall in place. Imagine a world with no need of goverment. Imagine if all that you perceive is but an extension of yourself. Of what use would goverment be in it`s present state? Perhaps it would take on a new form....one without any power struggles. International relations? Same thing applies.

Don`t blindly beleive what anyone tells you or especially what the media tells you, go out there yourself and look closely at what you see. Rare is the one ready to look so closely.

Reply to pike

Meanwhile, life in the real world goes on. A world where we have to somehow divide limited resources over unlimited wants.

I bet it's really simple to "entertain supportive thoughts" when you're a rich, pampered member of western society. You know, when you have guarantees and rights. When you don't have to worry about hunger or getting medicine or the survival of your children or the cold or and rain or violence or anything.

Like just the other evening I was entertaining supportive thoughts over my caviar tartine. It really helped me <strike>delude and blind myself</strike> find inner peace.

Hi.

Revolutionary War. Ring a bell?

How many people fought and died to create what the Westerns have today?

Our society is extremely successful because of our rights and values, unlike Eastern nations.

Just goes to show the gov'ts over there don't work and should be changed gradually with the overall perspective of the people.

Reply to Riser

No. Obviously not.

I don't even understand why you would ask such a stupid question.

Riser: I don't agree with you at all. More, much more, non-westerners died to create what we have, and I doubt it was willingly.

And it's all beside the point anyway.

I'm saying it's easy to imagine "a world with no need of government" when you're oblivious to reality and speaking from a position backed by one of the most powerful governments in the world. The world isn't some hippie playground where, if everyone just got along, smoked ganja and listened to John Lennon we could live in harmony or whatever.

I agree more died without a doubt.. far more than I can ever imagine. Though, I beleive the ones here died for a reason they believed in.

Anyhow, Pike is out there. We can agree on that.

Though, I'm a fan of government. Just today I read an article citing a poll in which the majority of Americans, in this poll, feel the American Gov't is doing too much.

Doing too much.. hmm. What is too much? What isn't enough? Weird.

Pardon me Snorkius. I'm still rather new here, so I'm not up to par with your history nor have I bothered to take the time to care about delving into your personality much further although I've often found your posts somewhat intriguing.

I'm sorry if it offended.

From what I recall, he's lived in the US.. not sure how long, but somehow ended back in Russia.

I've never seen the guy use a smilie face either. :P

Reply to Riser

I've lived in a lot of places. Currently living in Russia because 1) I'm finally old enough to decide such things 2) I believe concepts like love, respect, patriotism (anything really) should -can only be - be proved by actions.

I don't like emoticons. They're abused worse than crack-whores in the ghetto. Especially annoying is the multiple chin ))))))) smiley.

And I have been known to use this guy  quite a bit.

Oh I'm going to play the guessing game.

You're 6'1. Glasses, thin lenses, light brown hair, fair skin.. Hmm. Slender.

Sounds like a dating ad eh?

I'm trying to put a picture to your personality. Nerdy personality.

haha joking.. I take you more for someone who reads and studies over someone active and youthfully engaging in society?

You're what? 24-27?

Still, in all that you've said the only meaningfull change you can make is with yourself, the sages would say. Reacting and dramatizing is of no use as it changes nothing of the world. Actually, it fuels the human drama.

The world doesn't need you to shoulder it's apparent burdens and have you weep at the apparent suffering. We beleive to be so important hense the the origin of guilt. Relax, the Universe has things in pefect order, it doesn't need our interventions. However, what we perceive is truly a reflection of what we entertain inside ourselves, of our inner lives. That's why we should slow down a bit and become more aware. That's all.

Maybe touching your inner self is good for you. Ignoring today's world events and the history leading to them is an absurd way to live. Enlightenment comes from many sources. 8)

Pike, I can't agree with your do-nothing stance. Very convenient - "nothing depends on me, everything is as it should be so I'll just continue to justify my inaction, my unwillingness to fight injustice". I'll can freely admit that I'm not a very good person - my material comfort, free time are much more important to me than any number of (solvable) problems. I guess I just don't need some "it doesn't depend on me anyway" philosophy to blind myself from the truth that I can do something - I just don't want to. Weak, pike, weak.

We prove ourselves, our beliefs, by our actions.

And I'm all for introspection and awareness, but not for introspection's sake.

the inner self is never a "mine" or a "yours"...it could be said to be much more of a "ours"

there's nothing wrong with current events or politics, just do not get so caught up in the drama of it all that you are robbed of the chance to see the bigger picture

the greatest misconception about meditation is that it's inaction....to prouve my point thy this: after your days activities, make the willfull decision of going to a calm dark place in your house to sit in silence for 20 or 30 minutes simply to listen to your breathing and you will be reminded every moment that you are indeed "taking and action". In fact, the action you have willfully decided to take goes so much against the mind that most people caught up in their identification with an image of themselves that they can't cope with the distres of it. The distress comes from an gradual awareness of the mis-identification of self and thoughts that's been built up over time.

Do get involved in whatever social actions you feel inclined towards, but don't loose your identity in them. Your much more than just that. So i've heard said.

Reply to Tom_Smart

All that doesn't apply to me, or the situation though. I'm not, or really ever was, in any distress. Some people even reproach me, they say I'm too relaxed and laid back, that I don't have enough "drive" to succeed in this dog-eat-dog world.

That doesn't mean that a possible catastrophic failure of democracy in the most powerful democratic society is something we should just yawn at. People have to be aware, and they should take their civic duty seriously.
