they said that I could use a ...ATX form factor could someone explain that to me. looking to upgrade to a 350 or 400w...But I dont know what a ATX form factor is...thanks
Pengwin, they're probably retards and his power supply is probably PS/2 form factor.
ATX defines the motherboard. The ATX case is designed around the ATX motherboard. An ATX power supply is designed with the right connectors to fit the motherboard...but can be any size the manufacturer wants and still be "ATX".
The fact that the people used the word "form factor" kind of irritated me, if they would have just told him to use a "standard ATX" power supply I probably wouldn't have asked "which standard" but instead accepted that they meant "the big one".
