I upgraded my IPAQ 5450 to pocket PC 2003, with a CD update. If I do a hard
reset, do I need to reinstall the CD?
Thanks,
Wayne

No, just any programs you install yourself.
Backup your data first.

With the upgrade, a hard reset was performed as part of the upgrade. If
the upgrade indicates that you need to exectute a hard reset, do so as
the app directs (the ppc is already empty)

Activesync and outlook do not need to be re-installed, but if you
installed any apps on your ppc from the cd, they will need to be
re-installed.

After you recreate a "partnership" you will probably be asked if you
want to reinstall the apps that you have installed to date anyway.

Just for clarity, If I do I hard reset, I will not go back to the factory
setting of Pocket PC 2002, correct?
Thanks Again,

Actually, I believe that is exactly what a hard reset does. It clears
everything out except what you have in non-volatile memory.

If the 3003 update is a ROM update it is in Read Only Memory so stays
installed. You lose things in RAM like programs and data.
