Hp Laserjet 1200 and horizontal light bands

I bought a used HP Laserjet 1200 which works fine except there are 4
horizontal bands on every page. The bands are light so they show up only
on dark background. The bands are maybe 1 millimeter thick and the
spacing is about 7,5 cm. Is this a cartridge (drum) fault that can be
fixed buying a new cartridge?
