my friend just installed a new stick of ram and has been getting the Blue screen of death twice ( i can tell cause he keeps loging off in my AIM window) while posting this thread. Plus he doesnt know about this website (Ive showed him the error of his ways) But i have no idea how to help him total ive been talking with him for 20 minutes and this would be his 4th blue screen of death. How can this be resolved?

Just a quick thought, has he taken the new stick or old stick out to see if they are incompatible together and see if the system runs fine then.

Whenever you add new RAM I recommend to reformat the HDD and do a fresh install of XP, that way, Windows can administrate the memory better and you shouldn't get BSOD...

If he finds it too difficult to format, he might want to try memtest86 or something. A problem to check whether your RAM is faulty.
