Other than Zone.com where is a good place to fly with others. I dont
really want to joing a VA and fly Heavies all the time. I was thinking
more on the lines of flying smaller non commercial planes jets and
props. Just like taking small cross country flights of a few hundred
miles or so.

You don't have to fly heavies or with a VA to fly on VatSim. I spend all my
time doing relatively short hops (100 miles or so) in small props or
helicopters, VFR. Loads of fun, but I'd recommended that you either do some
PPL study on air law (regarding airspaces and types of control areas), and a
bit of radio training reading.

Gday Chris

Download FSHostspy from http://www.chocolatesoftware.com/fshostspy/

It will show you all the FSHost sessions currently running and you can pick
a server to suit what you want to fly.
