Bloody backgammon site

Hi guys

Here's one that's got me foxed! First of all, let me admit too being
a bit of an online backgammon junkie, I usually play over on the
Play65 site.

No problems for months and months, couple of weeks ago they come up
with "upgrade", need I say more!

To be fair, the first ten days or so it seemed only slightly worse
than its predecessor, in that it probably didn't crash your m/c more
than once every couple of days.

Started real bad about four or five days ago, I was up at the
girlfriends having a game or two on her m/c and it started crashing,
started with the mouse freezing. Her h/d had seemed a bit ropey (it
wouldn't partition properly) so I stuck in a different h/d and
everything seemed ok again.

Started playing again, lasted 8 or 10 hours or so, started crashing
again. Eventually ended up with an unbootable m/c, wouldn't boot
even from a floppy, in the end didn't even get the bios start up,
totally blank screen on startup.

In a bit of a quandary by now, I went home, picked up one of my boxes
(that has been running beautifully for me for many months) and set it
up there. Same story, ran normally for about a day, played a few
games in the evening, started with the blue screen of death saying
that it couldn't write to drive c:

First of all I could F8 into dos, to try and bring my backup into
play, I got my first command out, "move windows windud", but I got as
far as "c:\windud\command\mov" in the second command before the
keyboard kept freezing.

Eventually ended up unbootable from cd or floppy, not even the Compaq
startup page.

Took this box home (also to check make sure it wasn't her monitor) and
still not realizing that it was this bloody backgammon site, I had a
few games (with nothing else open) on my clean m/c at home. You don't
have to guess the state of that m/c this morning!!

So, I'm down to my laptop, love the little buggers really :) Any
ideas anybody? Anything gratefully appreciated

Best regards

Tony

Let's check for a moment.
1. You run no AV or antimalware software.
2. You ran software that appeared to trash one PC
installation, then ran the same software again on
how many PCs -- three or four? -- trashing them all.
3. And you think some other people are the stupid bastards ?
