Good find. That is also the reason that I said "generally". I believe that
the big difference is that this particular driver is installed using an inf
file that is available on the CD and Windows is able to get enough
information from the device to identify it.
With the ones where you have to run an exe file first, the inf file is
extracted and becomes available (is extracted to some folder) and then when
you plug in the printer (or other device), the device is recognized and the
driver completes installation based on the information in the inf file.
