Hi,

Just looking to get advice on a dual-core system I was building. Its for casual gaming, with future-proofing. The components I was thinking of were:

MoBo: EPoX EP-9NPA+ Ultra, nForce4 Ultra,ATX
Chip: AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ 2.0GHz Socket 939
HD: Seagate Barracuda 7200.9 250GB SATA2
NorthQ Powersupply 4100 ATX 520W Silent,
Mem: TwinMOS PC3200 DDR-DIMM 1024MB Dual Pack
Graphics: XFX GeForce 7300GS 256MB DDRII, 550Mhz

What I have now, including monitor and DVD etc, cost €1527. Any suggestions or advice would be welcome.

Thanks

good... the only thing i would pay special attention is to the video card... although you're not a heavy gamer, i dont know if a 7300GS would fit at least a casual gamer... what games to you intend to play?
what about a X800? maybe an 7600GS

Really only gonna be playing doom 3 and unreal tournament. I'd like to be able to play some of the new games coming out but perfect graphics and detail aren't a big priority. I actually thought the 7300GS would be fine for most games, just not on full detail.
how much is the 7600GS? (roughly)

hmmm i saw some 7600GS for ~130 U$ and X800 for ~100 U$, dont know how much euro... the problem with this card is the memory is probably 64-bit wide, which means it's pretty slow.
i'm looking for benchmarks on this card, but until now i've seen it cannot run doom3 very well...
and if you intend to play future games, this card is not recommended at all...
