Which part of your rig are you most proud of?

Last response: in Systems

Just wondering which component of your self-built PC you are most pleased with. Got 2 150GB Raptors in RAID 0? A 7900gtx OC'ed out the wazoo? A gig of DDR3200 running at 4000 speeds? What part of your setup is performing just liked you wanted it too (or better)?

Personally I would say it's my x1900xt OC'ed to 650/750.

I am most proud of optimizing old hardware and making the most out of what is considered "out of date"

I love my P4 3.2 Northwood OC'd to 3.9 on Zalman air. I'm also very proud of a 3 x 80GB Hitachi SATA drive in RAID 0 that boots up windows from the time I push the pwr button to desktop loading in 20 seconds...(The windows progress bar doesn't even make it half way before desktop loads). AND I'm also damn proud of my 2GB of Corsair PC3200XL XMS that puts on a nice light show and OC like mad.

MOST OF ALL, I am the most proud of my old Sapphire 9700Pro Ultimate Ed. video card. I've had it since 2003 and it still plays all games (albeit in low-medium settings on very 3D intenesive games). Still, I love the heatpipe design that it first came out during that series.

Anyhoo, my two cents worth.

Ive got a sweet ass korn sticker on the side of my case. I think it makes it run faster. It added 300 points to my 3D06 score alone.

It must be that Twisted Transistor. ;)

The fact that my rig runs and is very stable... and it plays games well. 8)

Probably my motherboard (MSI 915P Neo2 Platinum)... i just love it for all of the features it has stuffed into this package... besides, my other components aren't so fast, my processor is hot and my graphics is midrange (good midrange mind you). i'm just waiting till the summer to get a TT big typhoon and overclock... (some reviews have gotten this baby up to 260+ FSB(toms had a bad time with it though :? ))

Im betting not one dam part in my rig is working like its supposed to   and its gonna stay that way, so i have to say that i am in no way proud of it.

"proud of a 3 x 80GB Hitachi SATA drive in RAID 0"
3 drives in a AID0 array? How do you pull that off?

As for me, the most exciting thing in my current gaming box is my motherboard. K8N-E deluxe. It has everything you could want (except PCIe ofcourse) and I only paid <$60 for it. (refurbed from cheifvalue.)

My Thermalright XP-120 heatsink. It's a total monster. It does such a good job of cooling my A64-3000 that with cool-n-quiet enabled the fan doesn't need to spin when Windows is idling. 8O

My Pentium D 830 (3GH) oced to 3.6GH on air is one point of pride.

I also love my raid0 setup 4x Hitachi SATA 80 Gigs on a Promise TX4300.

The Lian-Li V2100 is also pretty nice too

Im most proud of the fact that I built a computer that could smoke most bootique computers ive ever seen. The amount of cash system builders tag on to a build is obscene.

I'm not sure I'd use the word "proud," but there are a few things about my current primary system about which I am very pleased.

I'm pleased that although it contains competent (mid-range) components, I spent only around $1K on it.

I'm pleased that I had all the "details" worked out from day 1, like decent airflow that keeps system temps in the 38-40 range most of the time, and solid UPS protection; there've been no "gotcha's."

I'm pleased that I've had no network-related issues between it and any of my other PCs.

I'm pleased that the G5 mouse I added to it (along with a Trackball Explorer) works so well.

Okay here it is. I painted the inside with a uv paint blue with reflective finish.

This is my costume water cooling by the way. Got two separated kits. One (green) line for cpu and (blue) for the graphics cards ( 7800GTX 256).

I used a paint for cars. I'm still working on my side panel door.

MyHyper 48 cpu cooler. The relief from the 540 p4 stock coolers noise is bliss. It sounded like a high speed drill inside the case.

The cpu still runs at 60c - 66c but its lovely and quiet. Now I need some nice quiet case fans.

OK, which is it - 7900GTX or X1900XT? Both in SLFire?

my whole rig/ sound system (rx-8030vbk receiver + sa-ve445h 5.1 speakers/ssmf-650h floorstandings)... almost everything new since around the christmas before last (had been using only socket A the last 4-5 years on mostly budget consumer targeted hardware)

SLFire :D  That's must be a new setup! Cool!

Oblivion on highest settings at 243.9 fps. Guaranteed to overheat and as a bonus, it blows up your power supply and takes out your mobo!

Gimmie QSlFire!!!

I'm most proud of how I got Microsoft to stop bothering me with that "Windows Genuine Advanrtge" update. The auto-update icon has finally left my taskbar :) :) :) . So I get to keep using my free pirated Windows!

I'm not proud of the way that my f*cking A64 isn't stable at anything higher than 2.36GHz (stock is 2.2) :( .

I would have to say my power supplies power cord

I'd have to say how I managed to overclock my power cord from 5Hz to 7.5Hz. How many of you have a 50% overclock on your CPU?
