Motherboard for an Opteron 170.

Does anyone have a recommended motherboard for an Opteron 170? The motherboard builders web sites do not discuss the Opteron CPU.

if it will support X2 or "dual core" then you are good to go (just about all chipsets except via is pretty safe).

to recomend one MB must know what you gonna do with your rig ... I use Asus AN832Sli for my Opteron 165 and it works fine and can be oc without any problem. You can also go for DFI MB or any other brand that supports X2 ... it is up to you regarding your needs and budget...

If you have any thoughts of overclocking (which you probably do getting the 170) this is the BEST motherboard you can buy probably. You can overclock to your delight with this board.

If you really don't care to overclock or are sorta new a building and don't want a mulitude of options you might not understand, and might want to do some small overclocks, consider the Asus A8N-E. Its $90 give or take. You lose a second PCI-E x16 slot and onboard firewire in the tradeoff but its around $30 cheaper.
