I have been thinking and looking up info for a while now. I think this is what I have decided on so if anyone can make some suggestions or improvements I would be more than happy to change. This is sort of a budget rig so keep that in mind

Aspire Superalien Case w/ 500Watt PSU-$139.99
DFI Lanparty Ultra-D-$122.00
AMD 3000-$114.00
G.Skill Extream Ram(2GB)-$174.00
eVGA 7900gt-289.00
Seagate 80GB HDD-50.00
Scythe 120mm Sleeve CPU Cooling Fan/Heatsink-$39.99
NEC 16X DVD±R DVD Burner-$37.99
XP PRO-80.00(I can get it cheap from school)

I will be OC'ing this and I know people are going to post about he small HDD but this is all I will need and I can add one later if I have too. I also read the reviews on the PSU included with that case. They sell it seperate on NEWEGG and it got good reviews so I will be keeping the PSU and using it. What I was wondering was if this will do good for gaming and general use. I plan to upgrade to Duel Core in a year or so and want this 3000+ to learn to OC and to try to keep cost down. So my final question is what do you think? I have a little head room when it comes to cash

OK, I'll post about the HD as you predicted. Add the 35 to 40 bucks and get a 16MB cache 250GB drive. It's worth it and you say you have a little headroom. you could also consider getting an Opteron like the 144 Venus for ~$55 more than the 3000 on your list. And/or go to 500MHz RAM...

I guess I can go with that HDD but I want to keep the 3000. Something that makes me feel good about getting the most for my money and that ram is DDR500 so it runs at 500MHz. I think after that I will be set
