Hi, i was wondering which LCD is ideal for gaming and which monitors are suited for gaming. I've heard that Viewsonic VP930B is pretty good for gaming but its a little out of my price range. I'm planning on spending about 250-300 CDN for the monitor.

All opinions and suggestions are welcome.

Thanks in advance

I'm using a Viewsonic 19" VP920b which has a response time of 4ms. There's no ghosting at all. In fact, it's barely noticable when running a white cursor over a black screen. It's around $530 AU, which is pretty cheap for a 19 inch.

Samsung do good and fairly well-priced low response time LCD screens. My SyncMaster 730BF is excellent for games, though if you can afford it, a SyncMaster 940BF is much better, 4ms response time and its 19".

Thanks for the advice. I'm kinda leaning towards the VX922 from Viewsonic since it came down nearly $100 in price. However i also noticed ASUS made monitors and i was wondering which of the following three: samsung, viewsonic or asus produced a more crisp and sharper image quality.

Thanks in advance

Purely for gaming the cx922 is hard to beat

Samsung 915N 8ms. No ghosting.

Check out some of BenQs LCDs. Have heard good things and are a little cheaper. One I don't like about Viewsonic is that most of their monitors only have a 1 year warranty while companies like BenQ and Samsung offer 3 year warranties.

Samsung do make pretty nice monitors. Acer are actually pretty nice for the price, too. You can get a 19" wide-screen LCD for around $220 USD.

Personally, I like my 19" LG with 4ms response, 300 nits, and 1400:1 contrast.. No ghosting at all, huge screen size, and if I crank the brightness I'm pretty sure I could kill a vampire

Check into LG, they make very nice monitors for a good price.
