I'm surprised the hear that there was no gun check upon entering the show or if there was then it wasn't mentioned.

Any gun show I have ever been to there have been police or organizers standing by pulling aside anyone who was carrying a firearm explicitly for the purpose of ensuring said firearm was unloaded and made safe, even as far as sticking a range flag in the breech or in the muzzle.

Irresponsible gun ownership indeed...and shame on the organizers for not setting up some kind of check point upon entering.
