Well i've been reasonably impressed with my new D805 @ 3.6, it seems much faster than my Prescott. But i was wondering would it bottleneck a 7900gt or not, as the current x800gto isn't all that impressive.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks for reading.

You will be fine getting that, the 7900gt an overclock like crazy too, but you power supply may blow up if you have two parts of your computer highly overclocked

Thanks guys, i think i'll get a 7900gt. But duno which brand, have heard good things about eVGA superclocked cards? What you think?

I also read the article on voltmodding the 7900gt and clocking it to 800mhz stable, you think it's worth it?

Ahh i geddit. You know if my 6600gt in my crappy emachines thing can be volt modded, cos tbh i don't really care if it dies. Pretty useless for todays games!

The 7900GT is a sweet card. Your minimum framerates would probably be due to CPU limitations but overall, it would probably be a significant improvement.

I am curious, have you looked into unlocking or overclocking your X800GTO?

You could potentially get a big performance improvement if you haven't.

The cpu isn't that bad and bottlenecks are very slight when it is a halfway decent cpu, it may hold you back by10fps, but that is very slight when you are running a powerful card :) .
