At the same price, 7600gt or x1800gto?

I've been price shopping for some new parts and I've got a question that I can't quite find an answer for.

Basically, after rebates I can get these two video cards within $10 of each other.

XFX PV-T73G-UDD3 Geforce 7600GT 256MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16 Video Card
connect3D 3041 Radeon X1800GTO 256MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16 Video Card

My primary gaming is limited to World of Warcraft right now, but I'm also interested in Oblivion and Black & White 2 in the future.

Which one of these two cards do you think will give me the most 'bang for the buck', if you will.

Thanks a lot!

The ATI because it can do HDR+AA. Plus, you can unlock the pixel pipes, and overclock it to XT spec.

Performance wise, they are pretty damned close, I think it depends on whether you overclock and noise. The GTOs are good overclockers, but the fan is alot bigger than the 7600GT's... I've looked at numerous reviews and none have given a very clear winner. They seem to be leaning towards the 7600, though, on Obilivion, check the review. Another factor, though, is that the X1800GTO has a very beatiful girl on the HS/F. THAT is a major deciding purchase factor, for me anyways.

If you had to decide based only in that review, you would say "yeah! the 7600GT!"
I like NVidia, so I'd say the same thing... But (there's always a "but") you should remember that the X1800GTO can unlock pipes and turn into a X1800XT...
It's up to you. My choice?: 7600GT :D

People focus on the card model, and rightly so. However few then focus
on the "Manufacturer". Not all cards are equal.
Who is 3Dconn.....?

The X1800 GTO. two reasons:

1. Overclocked, the X1800 GTO slaughters the 7600 GT. Yes, the 7600 GT overclocks well, but the X1800 GTO scales much, much better because of the 256-bit memory interface - and the ability to increase voltage in software!

2. They perform very closely at stock speeds, but the X1800 GTO performs better with 4xantialiassing... which is a nice feature

Add the ability to do HDR&AA at the same time, even a possibility of unlocking... and at the same price, the choice is clear.

I Like NVidia Much More Than ATI ,But I Must Agree With Cleeve ... X1800GTO Can Beat 7600GT ... & Has Better OverClocking Ability ... Can Be Unlocked Too ... 256-Bit Memory Interface ... Better AA Performance ...
Go With X1800GTO ... It`s Better 8)

It's Connect3D, and if you don't know it, you've got a lot to learn... 8)

I'm longing for an X1800GTO just so that I can look at that girl.

something you may think about too is that the 7600gt does not require additional power inputs but the x1800gto still requires that extra power

I'm pretty sure both cards need additional power.

well looking at the image on newegg of the 7600gt makes me wonder where the heck you would plug power into? also there is nothing stated that the card needs additional power?

plus running in sli there is no additional power either

over at guru3d they have a nice review of gforce 7 series and ati's in sli and XF modes and in single mode as well

http://www.guru3d.com/article/Videocards/326/

the 7600gt holds up nicely
