Someone posted about using a 3rd party ink in here. I cannot find the post
and thought I had put it in my favorites. This company used the US formula
ink (or something like that) and also sold the empty cartridges with sponges
to refill. It was not hobbi colors but cannot remember who it was? Looked at
the site and was going to order and thought I had put it in my favorites,
but guess I did not.

is my test of some 3rd party inks.

Empties are available at http://www.inksupply.com

also

http://www.colorbat.com/emptycarts.htm

with some interesting things about problems with their ink. They
don't say, but the "one source" for the ink is/was Image Specialists,
who also supplies ink to MIS and MediaStreet.

I wonder why these new designs are needed for the carts, the old ones
work fine.

Do you mean Formulabs? Try www.alotofthings.com or their eBay web site
which has much more updated range.
