budget sound card

hi im considering getting a soundcard,when i use my headphones i get background crackling and the sound when i watch dvds is pretty bad quality,i want to know a good low budget soundcard i was thinking audigy 4 or audigy 2 zs does any one else have other recommendations?

edit ohh i just did.£26 including soldier of fortune 2 i will tell you how i get on.
